New eSource Update Includes Compatibility with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 and Other Features

eSource has been updated to version 3.3 and now offers new functionalities, settings and web parts along with some routine fixes that have been made, allowing the software to operate more smoothly.
With eSource 3.3, now Azox can build your ecommerce site online as well as for mobile users. These mobile ecommerce sites have different configurations; however they provide the same look as the parent site and give users the option of switching back and forth between the mobile site and the full site to optimize the shopping experience.

There are several new settings that are part of this update, including buy/get specials available as pop-up windows or promo pages that become available as customers move from shopping to checkout, admin reports and updated settings windows for browsers. First, changes to the settings windows include login/password retrieval or reset for users who have forgotten these credentials.

Additionally, display and details of items now have more features. On the Item Detail Page, a new “Images” tab has been added. This allows large images to be configured on this page only. It also allows these large images to be displayed or hidden. And lastly, a final change made has created new fields for alternate images under the Item Detail Image window.

SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) are another feature of eSource 3.3. This report generating software comes from Microsoft and is server-based. It allows a variety of interactive reports to be generated and printed via an administered web interface.

New documentation for “Shortest Ship to Distance,” “Dimension Group Validation,” and “Recently Viewed Items” is now available, along with a few additional changes and bug fixes. And perhaps the most important feature, this ecommercesolution is completely compatible with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013. To learn more about this product, or to schedule a demo, be sure to contact Azox today.

BIOLASE E-Commerce Site Now Live

BIOLASE Technology, Inc. has a new e-commerce store developed by Azox. Using our eSource software, the company now has business to consumer and sales portal e-commerce sites that also use our credit card extension. The sites are easy to browse, integrate with the company’s existing Microsoft Dynamics GP back office and mirror the original website's design.

BIOLASE’s B2C provides smooth checkout and the ability to track orders online. Order histories are also saved making reordering simple. Further, this site offers some SEO capabilities, including customizable title pages and meta data. These SEO functions help a web store get found by the search engines. This software also provides customers with real-time pricing and inventory information.

The Sales Portal site is for the support staff at BIOLASE to use. This software application makes it possible for the staff to view a customer’s order in their Microsoft Dynamics GP history. This allows the sales staff to not only provide efficient customer support but also to place orders, provide accurate inventory and pricing information and send invoices to these customers.

Through using yet another Azox product, Credit Card Extension, BIOLASE customers can be assured their credit card and ACH payments are processed securely. This credit card processing application is PCI compliant and makes use of tokenization, which is a process that takes the credit card number and replaces it with a token. By doing this, less information is saved on a server, making for a more secure transaction.

BIOLASE is in the dentistry and medicine industries. The company is based out of Irvine, Cali. and specializes in the development of lasers and related products, which also includes manufacturing and marketing of these items. These lasers are used to issue safe, pain-relieving treatments.

How to Authorize a Batch in Microsoft Dynamics GP

Last week we discussed how to authorize a credit card in Microsoft Dynamics GP. In this post we are going to cover how to create authorizations for a group of sales documents in a particular batch. This is useful for merchants who have a large volume of credit card transactions and want to process an entire day of authorized sales at once.

1. Open the Credit Card Batch Processing Window [Go to Transaction-Sales-CC Batch Processing].

2. Choose the Transaction Type as Authorization.
3. Select the batch you want to process and click [Redisplay].
4. The system will pull prior approved Authorizations in that batch for further processing. Select the documents you want to process or click [Check All].
5. Click [Process].
6. The system will return a PNRef and Status back instantly. Each PNRef you see represents a specific credit card transaction.

You also see these credit card transactions through the CC Transaction Inquiry Window [Inquiry-Sales-CC Trx Inquiry].

2. Create an Order

3. You will notice a CC Authorization window underneath the Sales Transaction Entry window.
4. Click [Transact] on the CC Authorization window. The CC Transaction Entry window will open.

5. The Amount will default to the Total amount in the Sales Transaction Entry window, in this case $107.00.

6. The default credit card on file will pull through.
7. Click [Process] on the CCTransactionEntry window.
8. A message box will be displayed to confirm the transaction. Click [Yes], if the transaction is approved, the CCTransactionEntry window will close and go back to the Sales Transaction Entry window and CC Authorization window. According to Julie Bennani, general manager of the Microsoft Partner Network, there are more than 10,000 gold and 25,000 silver competency partners. Here are some pictures from a session at WPC that went over the current state of MPN. We look forward to attending WPC 2013 next year in familiar Houston, TX (location of Convergence 2012).

2012 Post-Convergence Wrap Up

Another Convergence has come and gone. This just happened to be the largest Convergence ever with over 10,000 attendees, and 40% of those attendees were existing Microsoft Dynamics GP customers. This was our 10th consecutive year sponsoring Convergence and each one provides us with something new.

Some of the big announcements Microsoft had this year included a demo of Microsoft Dynamics ERP running Metro UI on a tablet. With Windows 8, Microsoft is pushing the Metro user interface which features a cleaner and more refined layout that is optimized for tablets and mobile devices. Another big announcement was GP 12/2013 web client. This will allow Dynamics GP to run from a browser, which will have to be Internet Explorer. Microsoft is also stating that all GP windows and third party add-on products should be available to work right away.

Not everything was business, and we had time to party, sponsoring the Rock-N-Rave party, which was held at Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar and Lucky Strike Lanes. We had a great time meeting up with partners and customers even if Team Azox did get beat in bowling.

The closing keynote was terrific and General Colin Powell’s speech on leadership was truly inspiring and humorous at the same time. It provided a good closing to a great show. We are looking forward to taking what we learned from Convergence 2012 and applying it to the year ahead.

Please check out our photos from the show on Flickr.

With mobile sales expected to reach $31 billion in 2016, more and more people will be looking online to make purchases. If a company is taking orders online from their e-commerce site and placing them directly into their ERP system, having an e-commerce store that is branded for mobile compatibility can provide another sales channel for a company selling online.
